How do I play?
First,
Enlist. Next, read the
How To Play Page and you might want to take a look at the
online tutorial. If you still have questions, please post them in our
user forum.
All of our players are very helpful and would love to help you out. When you "
enlist" (join) in the game, you are automatically a member of the forum, so you might as well post your thoughts and questions there.
I tried to join a game, but was told I must "activate my account" first. Whats that?
When you signed up, you gave an email address. We sent an email message to that address with a link to click on. Clicking that link
will activate your account and allow you to play. This is to make sure that users sign up with a real email address to prevent them from creating multiple accounts. If you didn't
get your activation message, you can
have it resent here, or contact us at
support@fleetcombat.com and we can activate it for you.
Is this a Flash Game?
Yes and No. It is a flash game in that it requires the
Adobe Flash Player to play. But it is not a typical
"flash game" in that it is not an action arcade game. It is a very complex multiplayer strategy game that just
happens to use Flash for its user interface.
Does it cost anything to play?
No. It is completely free to play. Fleet Combat Online is supported by advertisments on its web site. There are no
in-game ads and it does not cost anything to play. Donations however, are gladly accepted :)
Do I have to download or install any software?
No. Fleet Combat Online runs entirely inside of your web browser using the Adobe Flash Player plugin. According
to wikipedia,
96% of all web users have flash installed. So you will not have to download or install anything. If
for some reason you don't already have the flash player, your browser will install it automatically within a few seconds.
What browsers are supported?
Any browser that can run Flash is supported. This includes, but is not limited to: Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari, Mozilla, Opera, etc.
When is the game launching live?
Fleet Combat Online is still under development. The best way to find out the latest is to go to the
developer blog.
